Research Associate
Christopher Phillips is writing his PhD in International Relations at the London School of Economics under the supervision of Prof. Fred Halliday. His thesis focuses on state, religious and Arab identity in contemporary Syria and Jordan. He is a columnist on Middle Eastern politics for The Guardian Online and has spent several years living in the region. Christopher also researches British, European and Transatlantic politics, most recently co-authoring an article in International Affairs with Lord William Wallace of Saltaire on the Special Relationship. He obtained his BA (Hons) in history from Selwyn College, Cambridge and an MSc in International Relations from the LSE.
