Zeynep Dereli is currently managing director of APCO Worldwide's Istanbul office. Most recently, Ms. Dereli was director of the Atlantic Council's Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum. She also produced and presented a weekly foreign policy program, "Leaders and Decisions," on Turkish national television news channels as SKY Turkey and Cnbc-e.
Ms. Dereli spent seven years working at Shell at different positions in London, UK and Istanbul, Turkey. She was elected to Sisli Municipal Board in 2009 and served as an advisor to then Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay.
Currently, Ms. Dereli serves as vice president of the Turkish Ethical Values Foundation; an advisory council member at SOAS/London Middle East Institute; a member of the board of directors of the Turkish British Chamber of Commerce and Industry; a senior advisory board member of the British Chamber of Commerce of Turkey; and is a founding member of Endeavor Turkey. In 2012, she was named one of the "Young Society Leaders" by the American Turkish Society. Recently she served as the first female President of Turkish American Business Association (TABA / AmCham), which is an official representative of the United States Chamber of Commerce in Turkey.
Ms. Dereli holds a master's degree in Development Economics from the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Princeton University, with a certificate in Near Eastern Studies.
