Coordinator for the APPG on Anti-Corruption and Responsible Tax
The Foreign Policy Centre (FPC) is looking to recruit a Coordinator for the APPG on Anti-Corruption and Responsible Tax to join its team.
Location: London
Salary: £37.5k – £42.5k, dependent on experience
Length of Contract: Fixed term contract, renewed annually
Hours: Full time, based in Westminster, with the possibility to work from home 1-2 days a week and during recess periods. FPC offers flexible working hours. There would be some occasional evening work required.
Reports to: FPC’s Director; and the APPG’s two Senior Advisors.
Key relationships: the APPG Chair and co-chairs as well as FPC’s wider team (in particular, FPC’s Policy and Parliamentary Affairs Manager and FPC’s Communications and Projects Officer) and the UK Anti-Corruption Senior Coordinator.

As of April 2025, FPC will be providing secretarial support to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Anti-Corruption & Responsible Tax, and is seeking a dedicated coordinator to lead on the delivery of this function.
About the APPG: The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Anti-Corruption & Responsible Tax is a unique campaigning organisation with strong cross-party support that works to influence political debate and deliver real world change. Its aim is to develop and advocate for policies which promote fair taxation and put a stop to corruption or financial crime. We work not only for the headline fiscal purpose of increasing public revenue, but also for the wider purpose of ensuring that the public at large continues to have faith in the system. The APPG is non-partisan and works to build consensus across the political divide.
The APPG was established in June 2020 with the merger of two existing backbench Parliamentary groups on responsible taxation and anti-corruption. More about the APPG and its work can be found at anticorruption-responsibletax.org.
About the Role: The APPG Coordinator, supported by the broader FPC team and the APPG’s two Senior Advisors, would deliver key functions towards achieving the APPG’s goals, as set out in its latest manifesto and agreed by officers annually.
These functions are anticipated to include, although may not be limited to:
- Ongoing coordination and administration of the APPG and its members, under the direction of its Chair, officers and active Members;
- Outreach and relationship building with key stakeholders in Parliament, Whitehall and beyond, with a particular focus on identifying opportunities for influence, for instance through related legislation and debates;
- Regular engagement with strategic partners, including members of the UK Anti-Corruption Coalition and the UK Anti-SLAPP Coalition;
- Research, drafting and producing APPG materials, such as letters, briefings and reports;
- Organising regular events both private (hearings, briefings with Ministers/departmental staff/stakeholders) and public (panel discussions, receptions, briefings, dinners etc);
- Communications, including updating the APPG’s website and social media feeds, regular newsletters to members and media relations.
This role will require significant experience of Parliamentary affairs, a strong understanding of Parliamentary and governmental processes, knowledge of how to best facilitate the timely input of expertise from a range of stakeholders and some pre-existing subject matter expertise in the APPG’s areas of interest. The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with an established network of parliamentary, governmental, civil service and civil society contacts, as well as possessing the skills to grow the APPG’s networks.
Job Details
- Monitor media and Parliamentary debates, committees, consultations, inquiries and other processes and groups (e.g. APPGs) relevant for the delivery of the APPG’s programme of work.
- Identifying opportunities in Parliament for the APPG to build its network, influence policy and keep colleagues and Members informed about important deadlines for oral questions, submissions, and briefings.
- Lead on the development of Parliamentary briefings for Parliamentarians and other key stakeholders, evidence submissions to Parliamentary inquiries and consultations, or other similar written outputs, increasing the impact of the APPG and partners’ research and outputs.
- Support the APPG Co-Chairs with briefings, speeches, media appearances and other assistance as needed to play their role.
- Develop relationships with the Parliamentary community (MPs, Peers, researchers, committee clerks and APPGs), developing new contacts as well as maintaining and deepening ongoing relationships, including with other political, governmental, and diplomatic audiences (special advisers and civil servants). This includes regular engagement with strategic partners, including members of the UK Anti-Corruption Coalition and the UK Anti-SLAPP Coalition;
- Provide support to APPG members and colleagues and civil society partners, on the promotion of key messages, timing of delivery and key contacts in the dissemination of their work.
- Work with the APPG team and FPC colleagues to organise and deliver the APPG’s calendar of events, including roundtables, panels and other meetings ; as well as assist in the development and planning of the APPG’s attendance at party conferences.
- Represent the APPG – where appropriate – in meetings.
- Communications, including updating the APPG’s website and social media feeds, regular newsletters to members and media relations.
- Management of APPG assets – data sets, briefing library. This includes maintaining up-to-date stakeholder mapping, including among Parliamentarians (identifying potential interest, support and allies in both Houses).
- Reporting and progress monitoring of work streams using project management tools, including budget management.
- Potential line management of junior colleagues, contingent on additional funding.
- Providing other administrative and operational support as required.
Essential Experience:
- A minimum of three to five years experience of working in Parliament or in a similar parliamentary liaison role.
- Proven ability to build impactful relationships with policymakers or similar audiences.
- Expert knowledge of the public-policy process including parliamentary procedure and frameworks, as well as a strong understanding of policy areas relevant to the APPG.
- Strong communications skills, with professional English language proficiency, knowledge of communicating for different audiences in different formats, including social media.
- Excellent drafting and editing skills, including for articles, briefings, and reports.
- Prior event organisation experience, particularly for Parliamentary or similar audiences.
- Strong organisational ability, including ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise workload and operate both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to be flexible, with occasional evening work required.
- Educated to at least degree level.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable, but not required:
- Fundraising and donor reporting experience.
- Project management experience.
