Camila Mateos Betancourt
Communications and Projects Officer
Camila Mateos Betancourt joined FPC in June 2025 as Communications and Project Officer. Camila is a communications and policy professional with a background in international affairs, gender, and security, who has worked across sectors including think tanks, international organizations, and media. Most recently, she worked with the UNDP Food Systems Team, where she facilitated global stakeholder events and trainings, and led community engagement efforts. As a producer and writer at The International Risk Podcast, she contributed to episodes and articles on global risk and security, covering topics such as cyber threats, extremism, and international elections. Earlier in her career, Camila interned at the Mexican Embassy in the Netherlands, where she focused on sustainable trade initiatives. She also coordinated events on human security and peacebuilding at the Jason Institute for Peace and Security Studies. She holds an MSc in Gender, Peace and Security from the London School of Economics and a BSc in International Relations and Organizations, with a minor in Violence Studies, from Leiden University. Originally from Mexico City, Camila is passionate about inclusive policy, open societies, and human security. She speaks Spanish, German, and English.
