Advisory Council
Dr John Hayward is the Conservative Policy Forum Manager. Having initially trained in genetics, John subsequently pursued a career in international development, founding a successful adult learning institute in Central Asia. For several years, he led a social reform think tank that offers a faith-based perspective on the challenges facing modern society. He now works with the Prime Minister's policy unit and government ministers, as ambassador for the Party’s grassroots, to widen participation in the national policy-making process and in the shaping of future Conservative policies. He also delivers training for politicians from newly-emerging and developing democracies to develop policy-based election platforms, to widen civic participation and to promote best practice in policy-making. John has twice received public awards for his “outstanding record of service and devotion to duty” and for accomplishments that “promote excellence, uphold integrity, and foster creativity.” He is married, has two university-aged children and enjoys bird-watching.
