Spotlight on Uzbekistan: Examining four years of Mirziyoyev’s rule
This event, took place on the fourth anniversary of President Mirziyoyev’s election as President, will seek to take stock of the current political and social situation in Uzbekistan. It will look at what has changed since 2016 and what has not, assessing what the much talked about reform process has delivered and where there is more to do. It will discuss the key issues identified in the July 2020 Spotlight on Uzbekistan report and assess them in the context of the challenging questions posed for the country by the Covid-19 pandemic, economic pressures and regional instability.
